When does Mercury Product Protection
coverage begin?
The coverage begins when the original factory
warranty ends.
Will my Mercury Product Protection Plan be
honored at any Mercury authorized dealer?
Yes, any authorized Mercury Dealer in the U.S. or Canada will repair your
MerCruiser Sterndrive or Inboard engine, Mercury Outboard, or Jet Drive per the
plan provisions. MotorGuide Trolling Motors need to be delivered to an
Authorized MotorGuide Servicing Dealer. You are obligated to pay for all related
transportation charges, shipping charges, and travel time to and from the
service facility and for Service and/or parts not covered by the Contract.
Where can I buy the
plan?
In addition to this site, you can purchase Mercury Product Protection
from any factory authorized Mercury Marine Dealer, not just the dealer that sold
you your boat. However, some states require a special license to sell extended
warranties of this type. We have created this site to make
this important purchase easy for you.
Is there a deductible?
Yes, there is a $25.00 deductible per claim
Can a Mercury Product Protection Plan be transferred?
Yes, the remaining plan is fully transferable to subsequent owners with a cost
of $50.00 per engine. This transaction must be completed within 30 days of
transfer of ownership.
When does the Mercury Product Protection Plan have to
be purchased? Is the plan renewable?
The plan can only be purchased within the first year of factory warranty. At
this time the plan is nonrenewable.
Is there a third party involved with this plan?
No. Mercury Product Protection is an extended service
contract backed by the Mercury Marine factory.
